Brussels, 17/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Pier Virgilio Dastoli, the Spokesperson for the European Civil Society Forum declared that the Laeken Summit had opened a new phase in the unification process in Europe, which should end with the adoption of a Constitution, and that everyone should take responsibility for their own roles. Hence - Members of the Convention should show vision in elaborating a constitutional text elaborated by the constitutional text, which deal with the questions posed by the European Council. Governments should show imagination in guaranteeing a democratic procedure that would allow for the entry into force of the constitutional text elaborated by the Convention, for those who wish to do so. Non Governmental Organisations should show cohesiveness in allowing for the emergence of anew alliance between federalists, those who are bringing a clear vision…for a European Constitution that is often marginalised by an apparently ideological approach and the different feelings in our societies, those who bring the values of solidarity and respect for cultural diversity that have been until now very inattentive to the challenges involved in European construction.
