Ban on export of pigs from Catalonia

Brussels, 06/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission banned util the end of the year exports of live pigs and pig sperm, ovule and embryo from the autonomous community of Catalonia (Spain), following the discovery of a new outbreak of classic swine fever, that appeared two weeks following the expiry of the last restrictive measures that affected the country for over six months.
