06/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - Faced with the deterioration of the international environment, and despite some encouraging signs from the United States, industrialists and consumers in the euro zone are still downbeat. The economic confidence index in the euro zone, published by the Commission on Tuesday, fell to 98.6 in November, after 99.1 in October. Never since 1997 has this indicator fallen so low.
