EPP endorses report on constitution and welcomes RPR and UDR to its ranks - joint candidate for Convention

Brussels, 06/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the EPP Political Bureau endorsed the report by Wilfried Martens and Wolfgang Schäuble on "A Constitution for a Strong Europe". We shall come back to this.

In addition, it accepted two parties among its members, the French RPR (Rassemblement pour la République) and Italian UDR (Unione democratica per l'Europa), whose deputies already have seats at the EPP-ED Group at the European Parliament. Furthermore, Conservative leader Duncan Smith...
