16/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Bank of France estimated that enough euro notes had been produced for the purposes of ensuring a smooth introduction of the currency across France. Some two billion euro notes were delivered to the Bank on 9 November, "a sharply higher number than the number of bank notes in circulation today" (1.45 billion) explained the Bank in a press release. It added that the number of notes supplied in advance to its branches was sufficient not only to frontload banks and businesses, but also to provide sufficient notes of each denomination to the public from 1 January onwards.
