16/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - Daniel Cohn-Bendit, member of the Green Group in the EP, at a time when the Bundestag was preparing for a vote of confidence on Chancellor Schroeder in the affair of sending German troops to Afghanistan, wrote an open letter to the parliamentary Bundnis/Grune group in which he calls on them to "take a responsible position", recalling that the German Greens "are those who carried our European project, by their ecological and social project, as well as their desire for a European Constitution". The letter, underwritten by other MEPs and French, Belgian, Italian and Dutch Green leaders, stresses that it would be "irresponsible to put an end to the Red-Green coalition in Berlin".
