Brussels, 10/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Belgian Presidency chose caution when it decided to cancel the meeting of the Fisheries Council scheduled for Monday 22 October, in order to leave the Council's working group enough time to continue technical examination of the controversial European Commission proposal aimed at extending the Multi-Annual Guidance Programme (MAGP IV) for one year, until 31 December 2002.
