Brussels, 10/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 17 October, the European Commission will give its stance on the bridging loan of 125 million granted by the Belgian State to Sabena after the Belgian airline company was placed in receivership, said Loyola de Palacio, Transport Commissioner, on Wednesday. She stressed that the European rules do not allow aid to airline companies, but remarked that it is the rules on "rescue" that apply in this case (see EUROPE of 4 October, p.11).
