Commission creates Task Force to examine aid paid by Member States to cover insurance for their airline companies

Brussels, 25/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has created a Task Force within its Directorate General for Transport and Energy, to examine aid that Member States will be paying to cover insurance premiums linked to "risks of war" facing their airline companies. According to the code of conduct on coverage of such risks, adopted on Saturday in Liège, several Member States began to negotiate agreements with their airline and insurance companies (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.7)....
