Friday's Extraordinary Summit is to send a powerful message on EU's "global and sustainable" fight against terrorism, and reassure the markets - Nicole Fontaine to present the EP's position - Discussion on Middle East after dinner

Brussels, 20/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - In the European Council President's traditional letter to those taking part at the EU summits, Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt put forward the following ideas with a view to Friday's summit on the consequences of the attacks on the United States (unofficial translation):
