The Swedish banks SEB - SKANDINAVISKA ENSKILDA BANKEN and FS - BANKEN - FOERENINSGSPARBANKEN have dropped their plan to merge, regarding the conditions set by the European competition authorities as excessive. See yesterday's Europe, p.9.
