Brussels, 17/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The President of the EP's Foreign Affairs Committee, Elmar Brok, opened the parliamentary conference in Brussels on Monday on the European Union - South-East Europe Stability Pact. Participants at the two-day conference include Annemie Neyts (for the Presidency of the Council of the EU); the Special Stability Pact Coordinator Bodo Hombach; the High Representative for CFSP Javier Solana; the External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten; and the Presidents of the OECD and Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assemblies, Andrian Severin and Andras Barsony. The discussions are to focus on parliamentary contributions to stability, economic reconstruction and fighting crime.
