Mr Solana pushes for Peres-Arafat

Gaza, 05/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - Javier Solana, CFSP High Representative, currently on a visit to the Middle East (see yesterday's edition of Europe pages 6 and September 3 and 4 page 3), expressed his hope, after Tuesday's meetings between Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres, would take place between the President of the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli Minister for Foreign Affairs "very soon".
