05/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The president of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, is to attend the conference entitled "A European district of advanced technology: Genoa in the Western Mediterranean", to be held in Genoa on 7 September. In an article published at the end of July in La Repubblica, after the violence that had marred the G8 Summit, Mr Prodi confirmed he would be in Genoa for this conference.
