EP calls for abolition of extradition for terrorist acts and a European arrest warrant

Strasbourg, 05/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament adopted by a very large majority (467 votes for, 56 against and 41 abstentions) and without amendments the report on terrorism by Graham Watson, British Liberal Democrat Chairman of the Committee on Citizens' Freedoms. MEPs thus call on the European Commission to take their position into account in the two proposals that it must adopt on 26 September on the fight against terrorism (definition, minimum sanctions and cooperation)...
