ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Spanish Banking group BBVA - BANCO BILBAO VIZCAYA ARGENTARIA announced the sale of BBVA-MAROC (own funds of EUR 14.8 million on 31 December 2000), its Moroccan subsidiary to the Moroccan banking group WAFABANK. This operation, for which no financial details have been disclosed, allows BBVA to increase from 8,11% to 10% its stake in the WAFABANK.
