ELECTRABEL acquired the electric assets that its parent company TRACTEBEL (French SUEZ group) held in Europe. The totality of the acquisition covers an amount of EUR 590 million. ELECTRABEL thus bought stakes from TRACTEBEL in the following power stations: POLANIEC in Poland (25% of the capital), ROSEN in Italy (99.5%), GENERG in Portugal (32.5%) and DUNAMENTI in Hungary (74.82%). The totality covers a production capacity of 4,317 MW. To these production assets are added the European trade subsidiaries in which TRACTEBEL was present: the trading company ELECTRABEL NORDIC in which ELECTRABEL already holds 50%, ELECTRABEL DEUTSCHLAND in which ELECTRABEL already held 98.15% and which owns, for its part, a 51% stake in the commercial joint venture ENERGIE SAARLORLUX with STADTWERKE SAARBRÜCKEN, and finally ELECTRABEL POLSKA in which ELECTRABEL holds 50%. All of these activities have been brought from TRACTEBEL for a total of EUR 590 million.
