EU sets 12 July as date to find amicable agreement with United States over "18 cases" of steel

Brussels / Geneva, 09/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has called on the United States to find a solution by 12 July to the dispute over its anti-subsidy measures regarding European steel, otherwise, the Europeans will call for the opening of a WTO panel. The EU regards as contrary to WTO rules the 18 American anti-subsidy and anti-dumping measures against European steel companies, such as Salzgitter, Ekostahl and Thyseen in Germnay, Usinor inFrance, British Steel in the United...
