Further appeal for "transition to democracy"

Brussels, 22/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 21 June, the Swedish Presidency published the following Declaration on behalf of the EU: "The European Union notes the installation of General Musharraf as President of Pakistan and reiterates its calls for a transition to democracy. It is concerned that this act could jeopardise the progress that has been made on this path.
