EU supports Turkish reform programme

Malmo, 23/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Saturday, the EU Finance Ministers expressed, during the informal meeting in Malmo, their support for the Turkish programme for economic reforms, by recognising that Ankara needs "exceptional external assistance" to overcome the present crisis and by passing on the issue of financing to the International Monetary Fund and to the World Bank.
