Brussels, 02/03/2001 (Agence Europe) -The European Commission authorised the French Lafarge to take control of Blue Circle Industries (BCI). These two companies are active in construction materials. In the EEA, the operation will give rise to a significant combined market share in cement, aggregates and concrete products in the United Kingdom and Greece. Nevertheless the Commission feels that this would not pose competition problems, given the presence of major competitors.
