The Dutch group HEINEKEN (turnover of EUR 8.1 billion in 2000) is considering making an offer for the brewing activities of the Belgian INTERBREW, which saw itself forced to sell by the British authorities fearful of the creation of a dominant position in the country. See EI of 5 January.
