Mr Kostunica calls for time to resolve case of Milosevic

Stockholm, 01/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - During a joint press conference given on Wednesdays in Stockholm with Mr Persson, European Council President, the Yugoslav President Mr Kostunica called on the EU to disassociate the case of Milosevic from aid from the international community "due, in the moral sense", he said, to his country, following the bombing by NATO. The EU is in fact tying it cooperation with the FRY with the level of cooperation from Belgrade with the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT), which calls for the appearance of the former Yugoslav President in the Hague. Calling for "a little patience and understanding" from Europeans, Mr Kostunica qualified the justice handed down by the ICT as "selective", while Mr Persson reaffirmed the EU's position that subordinates cooperation with the handing over of Mr Milosevic to the ICT.
