ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) oil

French group TOTALFINAELF has published its annual results, which are exceptional for the year 2000. Profits rose to EUR 6.8 billion, up 127% compared to 1999, while the consolidated turnover rose to EUR 116 billion, up 55%. These record results are largely due to the increase in the price of oil and to the rise in the dollar.
