Loan of EUR 88 million for Palermo tramway

Luxembourg, 15/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank is granting a EUR 88 million loan to the town of Palermo (Sicily) for the construction of three new tramway lines and the acquisition of vehicles. The loan granted to the municipal public transport company, Azienda Municipalizzata Autotrasporti (AMAT), completes financing by the Italian State for the construction of lines to the service of the population of 120,000 and a potential market of 350,000 journeys/day, states the...
