Appeal by four German and Dutch steel companies on aid to restructuring of State-owned steel companies rejected

Luxembourg, 24/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - Like Corus UK (see above), the German steel company Wirtschaftsvereinigung, Thyssen and Preussag, and Dutch Hoogovens have lost their appeal for an annulment of the ruling of the Court of First Instance on state aid to the restructuring of the Italian steel giant Ilva (aid to the Spanish group CSI was not targeted here: Ed.).
