The European Commission reacts favourably to the new German system for fixing book prices

Brussels, 22/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The new system for fixing book prices in Germany was approved by the European Commission after a first examination on Thursday since it should not affect cross-border trade. Since free trade conditions were respected in the EU, "the new agreements between publishers and booksellers in Germany on fixed book prices at national level do not fall within the scope of application of the EC competition rules", indicated a Commission official in a press...
