EU hopes that Moscow will put an end to breaches of Partnership Agreement

Brussels, 31/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - On 27 March, the Portuguese Presidency made the following Declaration on behalf of the EU on the election of Vladimir Putin:

"The EU congratulates Mr. Vladimir Putin on his election as President of the Russian Federation. The EU hopes that the election of Mr. Vladimir Putin will give a new impetus to the partnership relations between the Russian Federation and the European Union and reinforce the dialogue in all matters of common concern.
