Abuja, 21/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - In a declaration on the International Day Against Racism, the two co-chairs of the ACP/EU Joint Assembly denounced the odious nature of racism. They demand vigilance by all bodies to combat ideas and violence of a racist nature as well as all incitement to racial hate, and plead in favour of education directed towards tolerance and understanding. They welcome the organisation of the World Conference Against Racism in South Africa in 2001 and launch an appeal for regional preparatory conference to benefit from utmost support.
