Vattenfall and the Land of Hamburg may acquire joint control of HEW (German electricity generator)

Brussels, 21/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the Swedish energy group Vattenfall and the Land of Hamburg to acquire joint control of the German electricity producer Hamburgische Electricitäts-Werke (HEW). One of the eight German electricity generating and supply firms, HEW is currently majority owned by the Land of Hamburg.
