Commission calls on Member States to negotiate sufficient radio spectrum for EU at Istanbul Conference

Brussels, 08/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission insisted that Member States should negotiate sufficient additional radio spectrum at the forthcoming World Radio Communications Conference - WRC-2000, in Istanbul in May. Participants should proceed there with sharing out radio frequencies. The Commission set out its stance in a Communication adopted on Wednesday and addressed to the Council and Parliament (see yesterday's EUROPE, p. 11) in anticipation of the conference. It...
