Advocate General Saggio says differential tolls on the Brenner motorway are in breach of European law

Luxembourg, 25/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Court of Justice has announced in a press release that its Advocate General Antonio Saggio recommends that the Court declare that tolls charged on the Brenner motorway run counter to provisions of the European directive on the carriage of goods by road. According to the Advocate General, Austria is in breach of European rules since it increased in 1995/1996 tolls for vehicles with more than three axles covering the whole Brenner route...
