Towards agreement on objective 2?

Brussels, 25/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Italian Prime Minister Mr D'Alema, in his talks on Thursday with Commission President Romano Prodi, reviewed negotiations between Italy and the Commission on determination of regions eligible for objective 2 of regional policy (support for conversion of declining regions). The two officials stated that their talks were "constructive" and Mr D'Alema added: "I hope our good reasons will be taken into consideration, in particular for the Turin region, to which we attach particular importance".
