Strasbourg, 28/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - By approving the report by the Swedish Socialist Goran Magnusson, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, meeting in Strasbourg, urges the European Union to incorporate the rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights and its protocols in the future Charter of Fundamental Rights and to ensure that consistency in the protection of human rights in Europe is safeguarded.
