Luxembourg / Brussels, 28/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Statistical Office, Eurostat, published the latest statistics this week on inflation, from which it emerges that in December the annual rate, in both the euro zone and in the EU as a whole, had risen to 1.7%, whereas the previous month it had stood at 1.4% or 1.5%, and that a year earlier (December 1998) it stood at 0.8% for the euro zone and 1% for the EU as a whole.
