Representatives of German Länder threaten to block ratification (at Federal Senate) of reform of institutions if Commission attacks aid to regional banks

Brussels, 28/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The representatives of four German Länder have threatened the European Commission that they will oppose ratification of the results of the new Intergovernmental Conference if the European competition services continue to seek to limit the power of regional bodies, the mayor of Bremen, Henning Scherf, told the German press.
