Towards an in-depth enquiry into planned merger between Generali and INA (insurance, Italy)

Brussels, 10/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission's services are actively pursuing talks with the Italian insurance firms Generali and INA over a planned concentration between the two firms. Generali has proposed dis-investment, considered as essential in Brussels for the operation to be authorised, and these proposals will be examined at technical level.
