16/07/2026 (Agence Europe) – In a letter sent to the European Commissioner for Transport, Apóstolos Tzitzikóstas, and his counterpart responsible for Energy, Dan Jørgensen, e-Mobility Europe and ACEA called, on Thursday 16 July, for ambitious measures under the Electrification Action Plan, presented on Friday 17 (see EUROPE 13906/15). The letter stresses that electrification is a key driver of Europe’s energy security and decarbonisation and that ‘zero-emission’ vehicles are the cornerstone of this transition. The organisations call on the Commission to adopt measures aimed at supporting demand growth, reducing electricity costs, facilitating the rollout of vehicle charging infrastructure, particularly smart and bidirectional charging, and stimulating private-sector investment.
