13/07/26 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 July, the Council of the European Union adopted a €120 million assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova and strengthen their air defence capabilities. In practical terms, this measure will finance a mid-range air defence system. This new measure brings total EU support to Moldova under the Facility to €317 million. The EU Council also adopted a first-ever assistance measure for the Philippines, worth €15 million, to strengthen the maritime domain awareness capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines across the country’s maritime zones, through the provision of non-lethal equipment and related training.
