The consultation closed on 25 May. Companies accounted for 61.6% of contributions, followed by trade associations (25.9%). Individual contributions accounted for 7.7%, while NGOs (2.4%), national authorities (1.4%) and academia (0.9%) were more marginally represented. The most engaged sectors were electronics and semi-conductors (12.7% of responses), followed by fluorinated gases (6.6%), and then energy and transport. All these contributions will now be examined by the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) to inform its opinion on the draft restriction of PFAS, expected by end 2026.
