05/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 5 June, the European Commission approved a €100 million Austrian State aid scheme aimed at strengthening the clean technology industry and accelerating the transition to carbon neutrality, as part of the ‘Clean Industrial Deal’. This new programme will complement an initial €100 million package already approved for the country last December. The subsidies will take the form of subsidised loans, granted until 31 December 2026. They will target SMEs and large companies investing in Austria in strategic projects in line with the Net-Zero Industry Act. This includes the production of essential equipment such as batteries, wind turbines and solar panels, the manufacture of their essential components and the recycling of critical raw materials. (JM)
