05/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 3 June, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) continued their discussions on the ‘Global Europe’ regulation (see EUROPE 13683/1) with the aim of presenting a “partial general approach” (political agreement) at the next meeting of the European Affairs ministers on 16 June. A number of issues were raised during the latest discussions, including governance, emerging challenges and migration. “We have intensified work on the EU’s long-term budget and its main financing instruments. When it comes to Global Europe (...) we have made significant progress during our work so far”, said a spokesperson for the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. (BD)
