EU Council invited to approve revision of Bulgaria’s post-Covid-19 recovery plan

27/05/2026 (Agence Europe)The ambassadors of the Member States to the European Union (Coreper) were invited, on Wednesday 27 May, to approve an amendment to Bulgaria’s post-Covid-19 recovery plan, worth €6.2 billion. The amendments to the Bulgarian plan, presented owing to objective circumstances, concern nine measures. One anti-corruption measure has been withdrawn, as it can no longer be implemented within the prescribed deadline because of an unexpected delay in the Bulgarian legislative process caused by the holding of early parliamentary elections. Eight other measures have been amended in favour of more effective solutions making it possible to reduce administrative burden, including reform of preschool and school education, support for renewable energy for households, increased use of renewable energy from geothermal sources, digitalisation of food processes from farm to fork, integrated public transport and electric mobility.
