21/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – The Spanish Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday 19 May its ‘Deep Tech Strategy’, which will mobilise €8.1 billion by 2030 in order to strengthen the country’s scientific and technological capacities, as well as its industrial fabric, in 10 strategic areas: biotechnology, clean energy, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, advanced connectivity, robotics and autonomous systems, advanced materials, advanced sensing technologies, quantum technologies, space and propulsion. Some 80% of the budget will be mobilised to transform scientific capacities into entrepreneurial fabric, the strategy’s second pillar. “We want what is discovered in Spain to be developed in Spain, manufactured in Spain, and to generate health, equality and quality jobs in Spain,” explained the Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant.
