11/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has welcomed the “transparency” and “intention” of OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, to give it access to its latest model: GPT-5.5. It has also indicated that it would like to see a similar solution from Anthropic, which has not yet agreed to provide access to its Mythos system. This “potential access” will enable the Commission to monitor the deployment of the model and address “certain security concerns”, said Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier, on Monday 11 May, adding that it was not yet clear whether this access would be granted to ENISA, the AI Office or DG CNECT. “One step at a time. We are in discussions with the company”, added the spokesperson, acknowledging that it would be “ideal” for the European Commission to also obtain access to Mythos. (APH)
