11/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – On the margins of meetings of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel (Switzerland), Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), and Sanjay Malhotra, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), signed, on Sunday 10 May, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between central banks. The MoU updates a previous text from 2015 and establishes a new framework for regular information exchange, policy dialogue and technical cooperation between the two institutions, including the organisation of joint seminars and workshops in areas of shared interest.
