05/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 5 May, the European Commission launched a call for expressions of interest in the creation of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance. This alliance will strengthen the security and defence of the EU and Ukraine by fostering an innovative industrial ecosystem dedicated to defence drones, according to the Commission, which specifies that the Alliance will support the development of advanced drone and counter-drone systems. Founding members will be selected from candidates with experience of the EU and Ukrainian defence drone ecosystem. They will form the Alliance’s first Board and will play a key role in defining the Alliance’s activities and priorities, the Commission said in its press release.
