05/05/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 5 May, the EU Council adopted an assistance measure under the ‘European Peace Facility’ (EPF) for the Senegalese Armed Forces, as part of the ‘Yaoundé Architecture’, amounting to €15 million over 36 months. Through this support, the EU will provide essential non-lethal equipment to strengthen the Senegalese Navy’s capabilities in naval operations, naval training and naval command support, the EU Council announced in a press release. In addition, the aid will strengthen Senegal’s cooperation with the navies of EU Member States, particularly in the context of the coordinated maritime presence initiative. (CG)
