30/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 30 March, the spokesperson responsible for digital affairs, Thomas Regnier, confirmed that the European Commission had been the victim of a cyber attack last week on the europa.eu platform hosted by the Amazon group. While “a certain amount of data has been collected”, it is only data that is “already in the public domain” and in no way present in the internal infrastructure, he added. In response, the EU institution has taken measures to reduce the risk of cyber attacks in order to preserve its data, without disrupting the various websites on the europa.eu platform, and is continuing its investigation to understand how the cyber attack was carried out. The ShinyHunters hacker network has claimed to have collected 350 gigabytes of data that was published on the dark web. (MB)
