European Commission approves two new protected geographical indications

27/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 27 March, the European Commission announced that it had approved the registration of ‘Erbazzone Reggiano’ (Italy) and ‘Kayseri Pastırması’ (Turkey) as protected geographical indications (PGIs). ‘Erbazzone Reggiano’ is an Emilia-Romagna herb pie, filled with spinach, chard, breadcrumbs and Parmigiano Reggiano PDO aged for at least 24 months, with an upper crust sprinkled with crispy lardons. ‘Kayseri Pastırması’ is a spicy,...
